Lulu Hypermarket, Al Mashef, Qatar
LuLu’s Al Meshaf store has become the first carbon-neutral hypermarket in the GCC region with the help of Clean Globe Consultancy services. The certification was obtained in accordance with the UK’s PAS 2060 standard.
The certification process involved a detailed carbon management plan, which included measuring and monitoring the carbon emissions associated with the operations, identifying areas for emissions reduction, and implementing solutions to reduce emissions.
The team of experts from CGC worked with the technical team to undertake Site audit and identify carbon spots to offer solutions to reduce the emissions. A comprehensive Carbon Management Plan was prepared guiding the client on multiple energy efficiency and conservation measures that needed to be undertaken which included HVAC and Refrigeration system improvements, Envelope performance improvement, lighting system upgrades and water system saving measures.
